“Khatta Meetha” is a 2010 Indian satirical comedy-drama film directed by Priyadarshan, starring Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan. The movie is a remake of Priyadarshan's own 1988 Malayalam film, “Vellanakalude Nadu”.
The story revolves around Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar), a struggling, small-time contractor who is trying to make a name for himself in the corrupt world of construction in a small town in Maharashtra. Sachin's life is filled with chaos as he deals with bribes, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and his family's disapproval. Things take a complicated turn when he encounters Gehna Ganphule (Trisha Krishnan), his ex-girlfriend, who is now a municipal commissioner.
The film highlights Sachin's comedic attempts to navigate through the system, his fight against corruption, and his dream of building a bridge, which eventually becomes a symbol of his perseverance.
